The main intention of a workshop about tools is to approch the artist’s tools as the central part of the art project.
History of the européen art tradition seems less concerned with critical litterature about tools.People usually don’t talk about the tools they use, may be because when you have a tool in hand you tend to use it rather than talking about its possibilities.
Tools are naturally facinating, not only for their aesthetical values as objects shaped within a sculpturally plastic manner, but because they represent a possible physical extention of the human will.
Tools permit a more effective action in the environment, and in this sens , they should be justfied by their capacity to recognize reality rather by their historical or their symbolic loads.Existing tools are programmed to re explore the knowen part of reality.New projects demand new tools.
The workshop about tools is supposed to explore the links and exchanges between the tool and the aesthetical intention.The persons participating to the workshop are supposed to explore traditional and non traditional tools to realize an artistique intention.( watercolour, drawing, calligraphy, graphology etc.)
